About Libby & Reclaiming the Way
Spiritual companion.
Seeker.
Fellow traveller.
Reclaiming the Way is a spiritual companioning space for those who have felt hurt, bored, or left behind by institutional religion — and long for something more.
My story
I've walked the well-worn path — and found something wilder.
As a child, I was deeply wounded in church. I was told that I was less than and unworthy and wrong for asking so many questions. And yet Jesus’ way of life was all about love and healing. I felt confused and lonely as I tried to understand this tension. And I’m a bit of a rebel! So I sought what excluded me.
First, a PhD in Religious Studies. And then a MDiv. and ordination in a mainstream denomination. I came to know the institution that excluded me from the inside — its beauty, its rigour, and its limitations.
But my own spiritual life kept reaching beyond what the institution could hold. I found nourishment in the greening wisdom of Hildegard of Bingen, and other wise women, in the thin places of Celtic spirituality, in the stillness of Zen meditation, in the healing flow of Reiki, in the embodied wisdom of the natural world, and in the cosmic patterns of astrology.
None of this felt like leaving Jesus behind. It felt like finding him more fully — in the roots of ancient traditions that the Church had too often silenced or forgotten in the name of power and control.
Reclaiming the Way was born from my own journey of healing and discovery. It is my offering to everyone who has ever felt that the door to the sacred was closed to them. It was never closed.
A mapEach symbol is a doorway.
The Reclaiming the Way logo holds the story of this work. Open each element to explore what it holds — and what it might be asking of you.
-
The heart shape holds the entire logo — a reminder that all flows from the Source of Love and Life. All wisdom, all healing, and all spiritual practice flows from and returns to Love. ✦ Where in your life are you most longing to feel loved?
-
The three-lobed green shape at the base is an ancient Celtic symbol — pointing toward the mystery of the Trinity and the interconnectedness of all things, especially the natural world. It roots the logo in the Celtic Christian tradition that has so deeply shaped this work. ✦ Where do you experience a sense of deep interconnection — with others, with nature, with the divine?
-
The lotus rises from muddy water to bloom in beauty — a universal symbol of spiritual awakening, resilience, and the capacity for new life even after long darkness. It is rooted in Zen meditation and the gifts of contemplation and quiet. ✦ What beauty is quietly emerging in you, even now?
-
Nine coloured spheres run through the centre of the logo — from the earth star below to the soul star above. Each energy center, or chakra, is a centre of energy and holds your body’s wisdom, and each one holds a doorway is a portal into healing and divine flow. ✦ Which colour draws your eye first — and what might that tell you?

What I believeYou are created by Love. You are beloved. You are loveable. You are loving.
Yet our human experiences can make it difficult to believe these truths. Reconnecting with our divine essence is the Way to an abundant life for all. All beings — stars, planets, stones, plants, trees, oceans, rivers, animals, humans — are emanations of the Source of life and love. All are created good and called blessed. No exceptions.
Belovedness cannot be earned or lost. It is the essence of who you are. Together, our work is simply to help you remember.

Curious exploration · Compassionate guidance · Creative practice · Generous sharing
These are not just words — they are the living commitments that shape every session, every teaching, and every encounter. I bring all four to everything I do.
-
I have walked the path of religious disillusionment and healing myself. I know what it is to find the institutional church too narrow, too arid, and too far from the Jesus I have come to love. I know what it is to reach beyond doctrine toward something wilder, greener, and more alive — and to find, in that reaching, a deeper and more embodied faith than I had ever consistently experienced.
I also know what it is to be accompanied — to have someone walk beside me without judgment, without agenda, and without rushing me toward an answer I wasn't ready for. That experience is the foundation of everything I offer.

FAQs
-
In his lifetime, Jesus embodied radical embrace of all people, sharing God’s love with all, connection to the earth in prayer, and seeking justice for people who were marginalized and oppressed. Reclaiming the Way invites anyone curious about Jesus’ life and teaching to explore his teachings that lead to an abundant life of joy.
-
As Jesus’ teachings became doctrinal and dogmatic to support Christian institutions, they also became weapons for exclusion and control. While some church communities retained love and justice at the heart of their mission, many churches proclaimed hurtful and damaging messages. “Reclaiming” the Way invites us to explore Jesus’ teachings in a safe setting that does not require specific beliefs.
-
Anyone who is longing to deepen their connection with the Divine / Source of All Love and Life / God and curious about Jesus’ teachings will find a home here.
-
Absolutely not! Many of the practices in Reclaiming the Way resonate through many religious traditions. Jesus was a Jewish man and would not have recognized many beliefs proclaimed in his name. If you seek a life of love, peace, justice, hope, joy, and healing, then this work is for you.

Spiritual companioning is an ancient practice of walking alongside someone as they explore their inner life, their relationship with the divine, and the deeper questions of meaning and belonging.
Unlike therapy it doesn't diagnose or treat. Unlike coaching it doesn't set goals or drive performance. It simply creates a sacred, unhurried space for you to listen to what is already stirring within you.
Whether you're ready to book a session, curious to explore the teachings, or simply want to find out more — there is a place for you here.
